I don’t know if it’s an age thing, but at some point in life even the greatest denial artist will admit that we live in a vicious cycle of re-runs. And that we don’t really want to see the movie again and again. Especially when it becomes plain boring, a farce, or worse still, a horror movie. So I hereby invite you to seriously consider the Meaning of Life as defined by Robert Scheinfeld. He calls it The Human Game, I call it The Greatest Game on Earth. And it goes something like this:
Call it what you will, there has to be some sort of a Creator over all of this. Because with all of its flaws, the tiny bit we are able to observe of this universe is too amazingly beautiful to be just a passing fancy, an accident of evolution. Now God, by definition, is eternal (Time only exists in the 3rd dimension, the one we insist on being stuck in), omnipotent, and has to be ever-joyous. But if you think about it, all of that can be rather boring. So God invents a game, something like our board or computer games. And in it he challenges himself with the only challenge he can – that he is anything but omnipotent, eternal, and ever joyous. And he creates these little “men” – us – to arrive as helpless babies with erased memories, wander around the playing field looking for clues, and spend their “lives” finding their way home – to what we really are! Scheinfeld calls this illusion phase one, and the dimension of Truth phase two. Between them you can imagine a cover of cloud, hiding the light from phase one players. But this does not mean that the sun is not shining on the other side. It is, it’s all good, and it’s eternal.
Robert Scheinfeld put together a “process” to awaken our awareness to our true power. This actually reconnects us to phase 2, poking holes in the cloud cover until it becomes our natural place again. Generally it goes like this: you acknowledge that what you are experiencing is only an illusion – a hologram, a movie. It is a hologram YOU are creating, it’s your movie. Because it takes tons of power to create such a fantastic movie, you simply reclaim the power, followed by appreciation of both the creation and yourself as the creator. I mean, how great are you to write, direct, special effect, and costume this scene! And the more difficult and intense the situation, the more power went to create it – and the more power available to reclaim!!
Next time I will give you the version of the process that was gifted to me. It is easy, manageable, and it works. However, before doing so it is imperative to do away with an obstacle. That obstacle is our ego. You no doubt have already either rationalized away what I have written, filing it away on your tidy shelves, or your ego will do so very shortly. This is because that’s what the ego does – it introduces drama and conflict. It thrives on it, and the more it gets the stronger you’re stuck in phase one. So we need to neutralize this, and we do this with the following affirmation:
I am the power and presence of an infinite being
My subconscious mind is creating self-sabotage in my life
I choose to reclaim the power back from this creation, now.
That’s it. Repeat 13 to 20 times, as often as you wish/can. You will notice that it becomes automatic, and that your mind is wandering while your mouth speaks – this is your ego interfering. It does not want you to do this. Persist, do the repetitions in full presence. Within a very short time, some say 24 hours, “punishments” will stop introducing themselves into your life. You will be ready to do a similar exercise on actually adding power to creations you do want, and reclaiming power from those you don’t.
Notice that I have used the word “infinite being” and not God, subconscious mind, and not ego. This is to make things as bland as possible, so that no preconceptions get awakened, interfering with the process. You will be amazed at how much “thinking” will try and take place, to explain, negate, or even to thrill about all this. It is all nonsense, just a cover! Teach yourself to be above it. It’s just noise.
Our heads are full of noise. In fact there are two voices constantly competing in there. The loud one is our ego, screaming for attention, creating drama, conflict, and so-called “interest”. Actually, it’s all illusion. The other voice, soft and gentle as a summer breeze, is that of our heart.
Which one do you choose to listen to?
Thank you David for putting this in motion for me.
